GCI advises Stemas on the acquisition of Gefeg-Neckar
Stemas AG has acquired 100% of the shares in Gefeg-Neckar Antriebssysteme GmbH (www.gefeg-neckar.de). With over 110 employees, GEFEG-NECKAR develops and manufactures electric drive systems with a power output of up to approximately 750 watts at its locations in Gosheim and Deißlingen in the Swabian Alb. The product range includes electric motors in DC, BLDC, AC, and universal designs, as well as matching spur, worm, and planetary gearboxes.
The Munich-based industrial holding company Stemas AG is thereby expanding the service portfolio of its electric motors division, which, through its portfolio company Phytron GmbH (www.phytron.de), has previously focused on stepper motors and their control systems. Phytron is recognized worldwide as a market leader in extreme environments such as vacuum and cryogenic applications, in the aerospace sector, and in particle accelerators.
GEFEG-NECKAR thus becomes part of a strong group of medium-sized companies that operate independently in the market and benefit from one another. The nine companies now in the Stemas AG portfolio generated over EUR 100 million in revenue in 2015 with approximately 650 employees.
GCI Management Consulting provided advisory support to Stemas throughout the acquisition process.
